Jury Sees Graphic Crime Scene Photos In Trial Of Mom Accused In Toddler's Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was another emotional day in court as the trial of a mother accused of killing her young daughter continued.

Jurors also saw surveillance video of what may be suspect Adrienne Williams' car near the crime scene, and photos of the 3-year-old's abandoned body.

Following a morning of emotional evidence, Williams had a message for the judge.

She had her lawyers tell him that she "lacked confidence" in her court-appointed lawyers and wants them to "withdraw" from the case.

Judge Anthony Mariani angrily responded that there are "no grounds for relieving you," and they are "doing their duty effectively in my view."

That exchange followed a fight over showing the jury graphic pictures of the body of the victim, Adrionne Williams, who was strangled and dumped along an abandoned road in Swissvale.

The judge allowed the jury to see the photos, but told jurors, "They are not easy to look at. Do not let your passion affect your judgement."

Jurors, a homicide detective, and he defendant all choked up at the sight of Adrionne's lifeless body.

Among the photos is one of a red tent at the end of the road that was placed over the crime scene as a heavy rain storm erupted the night the body was discovered.

Adrienne Williams is charged with homicide, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Her trial continues Thursday.
