Carlow University Students & Parents Get Helping Hand On Move-In Day

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Hundreds of college students are heading back to class.

The students at Carlow University officially moved in today and the university had a special treat in store.

Carlow University hired professional movers and drivers for valet parking.

Daniela Bullock, a freshman parent, said she was pleasantly surprised.

"I pulled up and they told me to pull over and they started unloading for us. Very nice and convenient," Bullock said.

Carlow University put the "H" in hospitality when it comes to freshman move-in day and the 203 new students and their parents appreciated it.

Vitorio Bullock is a freshman.

"I packed this car this morning, but I didn't have to unpack it, which is good because I didn't want to at all. I thought students were just helping out, but the fact that my university hired people is really nice," Vitorio said.

The professional movers and valets know how to keep things moving like a well-oiled machine.

"All the families come to the driveway, we unload the cars for them and then the parents can go to the check in tent and we have all the cars valeted," Assistant Director of Campus Life Gwendolyn Stevens said.

"We are really excited to welcome them to the campus and make sure it's a flawless move-in for them," Campus Life Director Charlie Judge said.

Flawless and worry free, it's a system the university has had in place for at least ten years.

"It was awesome, I was like, this is great. I've never seen this, we like this valet parking. Yes, professional movers. This is the way to go," Sandra Evans said.

Classes begin on Monday and returning students arrive this weekend.
