Cops: Woman Attacked Husband With Scissors Because He Drank Her Last Beer
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – A Fayette County wife is in trouble with the law after allegedly attacking her husband with a pair of scissors for drinking one of her beers, and it's not the first time the woman has been involved in a high-profile fight.
According to police, the incident happened at a home in the 100 block of Whyel Avenue in North Union Township on Sunday.
Police were initially called to the house around 7 p.m. for a domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the victim who was suffering from cuts to his neck, chest and head.
The victim claimed that Tracey Lee Giffin had gone to bed after the two had been drinking.
When she woke up, she was allegedly upset because the victim, identified as her husband Joe, drank one of her beers. During an argument, Giffin allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and attacked him.
She also bit the man on the arms and thumb.
Neighbor Bill Sellong says he's heard the couple fight before.
"It's like a soap opera. You sit on the porch and you get reality TV," Sellong said. "They're arguing a lot, use a lot of foul language."
KDKA-TV has learned Giffin was also involved in another high-profile dispute in 2013, this one involving barbecue sauce.
State Police said she and another man, William Balas, were involved in a Christmas Eve fight in Washington County over barbecue sauce that landed the couple in jail.
Officers then said the couple got into a fight because Giffin reportedly forgot to pick up barbecue sauce on her way home.
Balas was bitten on the nose and hand during that incident and Griffin suffered and eye injury.
Also, in 2008, Giffin was arrested and convicted of repeatedly kicking a pregnant woman in the abdomen.

Facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, in this latest incident, Tracey Lee Giffin remains in the Fayette County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Joe Giffin was treated for the cuts and bite marks he sustained in the incident and is going to fully recover.
