Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One man is dead after he was struck by a car in Neshannock Township late Friday night.

The accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Friday on Wilmington Road near Chapin Road.

Neshannock Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Bruce G. Willis, Jr. of New Castle.

The driver told police he was driving south on Wilmington Road when something struck his vehicle, smashing his windshield. Authorities say the driver thought he struck a deer.

Police say the driver turned around to see what he had hit and saw Willis on the roadway. The driver then had a passing motorist call 911.

The southbound lane of Wilmington Road was shut down for about 3 hours Saturday morning while police were on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
