2 Women Charged With Stealing Nearly $450K From Fayette Co. Business

DUNBAR TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Two women have been charged with allegedly stealing nearly $450,000 from a Fayette County business.

According to police, Lisa Cavanaugh, 49, of Dunbar, left her position as a secretary at CAP Glass in Dunbar Township in March of 2013. Before she left, she duplicated a key to the business.

Police said Cavanaugh and Tammy Keefer, 49, of Melcroft, entered the business after hours on eight occasions. The two printed checks, which Keefer cashed at a bank.

Later, Cavanaugh told the business owner what they had done.

A total of $446,976.28 was stolen from September 2011 through March 2014.

A forensic accountants' report uncovered 276 unsubstantiated payments over a 5-year period.

Cavanaugh turned herself in and is free on $100,000 unsecured bond. Keefer has also been arraigned and was placed in the Fayette County Jail.

Both face dozens of charges including, theft, forgery and burglary.
