DEA Investigating After $175,000 Worth Of Heroin Found In Pittsburgh Dumpster

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Someone left $175,000 worth of heroin in a dumpster in downtown Pittsburgh, and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration wants to know who and why.

Though it's possible the drugs were simply thrown away, authorities believe the drugs - which were found in a duffel bag - were put in the trash container so someone else could pick them up.

Before that happened, a worker for an unidentified business found the drugs while taking out the trash on Monday.

There were approximately 25,000 single-dose stamp bags found bundled inside the bag. The worker called 911 and city police responded.

Pittsburgh police have handed off the investigation to the feds.
