3 Arrested After Attempted Robbery, Car Chase

NORTH SHORE (KDKA) -- Three men were arrested Tuesday afternoon for an attempted robbery that ended with a car chase and crash on the North Shore.

Police say 22-year-old Aaron Lyons of Swissvale, 29-year-old George McIntosh of East Liberty, and 24-year-old Juwan McIntosh of East Liberty are in custody.

The incident took place shortly after 5 p.m.

According to police, a 911 caller said he was being pursued in a vehicle by three men who attempted to rob him at gunpoint in Manchester. When officers encountered the vehicles near the intersection of Beaver Avenue and Chateau Street, the suspects sped off.

The suspects then crashed at Light Hill and Reedsdale Street. Three cars were damaged.

Lyons, George McIntosh and Juwan McIntosh were taken into custody at the scene. Officers found a handgun in their gun. Police say the gun was stolen.

The three men are facing charges of robbery, conspiracy, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Lyons is facing additional charges of person not to possess a firearm, fleeing and alluding police, resisting arrest, driving without a license and reckless driving.

None of the suspects or the 19-year-old victim suffered any injuries.
