MONROEVILLE (KDKA) — A Gateway High School employee has been placed on paid administrative leave.
According to a statement released by Superintendent William Short, the district received information that an employee “may have violated the District policy regarding student/staff boundaries.”
The allegations involve one student and stems from an incident inside the classroom.
District officials sent a letter home to parents on Thursday informing them of the alleged incident.
Officials were reportedly made aware of these allegations on Tuesday and contacted Child Protective Services.
“As a district, we are deeply concerned about this allegation and will always maintain that our top priority is protecting students/staff and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment,” the statement reads.
Officials from the district are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
