Antonio Brown Says He Was Almost Ejected From Sunday's Game Over Cleats

Ryan Mayer

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is known for having fun on the field during games and generally not caring about any fines that may come his way from the league because of that. He has picked up fines over the years for his various celebrations including recently being fined for his "twerking" celebration in the opening game against the Redskins. However, he has never been kicked out of a game due to his antics. This past Sunday, according to Brown, he was close to being ejected due to the cleats that he wore for the game.

In case you missed it, Brown wore cleats on Sunday that were baby blue with pictures of his children's face on them.

In the Week 1 game against Washington, Brown wore similar cleats and was fined for that along with the fine for his dance celebration. Despite that, Brown chose to wear the shoes against the Eagles and that's when officials took matters into their own hands according to Brown on his radio show.

Brown did change his cleats in the second half of Sunday's game as you can see from the picture below.

There hasn't been a response from the league to Brown's charges, but it does seem from visual evidence that he changed his cleats at halftime at the very least.
