Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a Thursday evening fatal shooting in Beaver County.

According to emergency officials, it happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wade Street in Aliquippa.

Three people were in a vehicle when at least one person approached and opened fire.

Cade Booher, 16, was in the backseat and died after being shot multiple times.

"We know that the 16-year-old and the 13-year-old were not from Aliquippa. They were from Beaver. And the driver, we are still attempting to make contact with him. We believe he also was from Beaver," Aliquippa Police Chief Don Couch said.

The 13-year-old passenger in the vehicle ran to a nearby home to seek help for the victim.

Aliquippa Police spent several hours collecting ballistic evidence Thursday night. They're not sure exactly how many shots were fired.

Friday morning, police were back out on the street trying to piece together what happened. They say they're also collecting surveillance video from nearby.

"We generally don't have too many problems on that street. It's unfortunate and like I said, it's just a tragedy and we're investigating to the fullest extent," Couch said.

At this time, no one is in custody and there is no word on what prompted the shooting.
