Gun Found In Washington Co. High School Bathroom

MONONGAHELA (KDKA) — Parents were contacted by Ringgold High School Thursday after a student discovered a weapon in a bathroom.

According to a release sent by Principal Jason Minniti, a gun was found in a men’s restroom near the front of the building. The student who noticed the weapon alerted a teacher, who contacted Executive Officer Colleen Spahr.

The weapon was then locked in a security office safe.

An investigation revealed the weapon belonged to a security officer within the district.

Again? In 30+ years of using public restrooms while on duty, i NEVER left a gun in the bathroom. Just how does one not know their holster is empty when they go to leave? And I know “most” if not all “security officers” in PA schools are retired state police. (That’s another story-for another time.) So they are qualified-i think.
This is a gross embarrassment for any of us that ever wore the badge.
