According to the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office, 17-year-old Ciara Hasselman, of Oakmont, died just before 6 p.m. at Forbes Regional Hospital. The cause of death was determined to be blunt impact injuries and the manner was ruled accidental.

She was walking along the tracks, and despite “numerous signals from the train” she did not move out of the way and was hit.
