Man Robs German Twp. Convenience Store At Knifepoint

GERMAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man brandishing a knife robbed a German Township convenience store late Saturday night.

The robbery happened around 10:07 p.m. at the Sweet Peas convenience store at a Shell gas station.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, between 5-feet-3-inches and 5-feet-6-inches tall with a very thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, blue jeans and black socks. He also had a gray cotton knit cup pulled over his face with the eyes cut out.

State police say the suspect came into the store, went up to the counter and demanded the two clerks give him all the money in the cash registers. He then pointed a knife at the clerks, reached over the counter and grabbed money from two different cash registers. The clerks described the knife as about 4 to 5 inches long with a black handle.

According to state police, the suspect was last seen fleeing on foot on Leckrone High House Road.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery should contact state police at 724-439-7111.
