3 Arrested In Indiana Co. Double Murder

CLYMER (KDKA) – Police are investigating a double murder in Indiana County.

According to police, the incident happened around midnight in Cherryhill Township.

A neighbor heard a disturbance and didn't think anything of it initially. After they heard more commotion, they went and knocked on the door. At that point, they noticed an individual they did not recognized who said there was only a fight happening.

Later, it was discovered that 26-year-old Tim Gardner and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Jackie Brink, were murdered inside the home. Two children, a 1-year-old and 3-year-old, were also home at the time. Those children were unharmed.

Police believe Brink and Gardner were targeted, and the killing wasn't random.

"He was an amazing dad. He stepped up whenever those boys had nobody. He did a great job. Those boys were really his entire life," Kelly Clawson, a neighbor, said. "Those were like her own kids, she didn't treat them like they weren't. Those were her kids, to her."

State police say three people are in custody, including a juvenile who will be tried as an adult.

Twenty-three-year-old Justin Stevenson, 18-year-old Nathan Price and 17-year-old Isaiah Russell Scott have all been charged in connection.

Police say a safe was initially missing and later found, leading authorities to believe the motive was robbery.
