Police: Tainted Halloween Candy Had What's Believed To Be Graphite Pencil Lead Inside
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A local police department is alerting parents to carefully check their children's Halloween candy after the discovery of a tainted Kit Kat bar.
The Washington Township Police Department posted a photo of the candy on their Facebook page.
According to police, the Kit Kat's wrapper had a hole in it and a long, cylindrical item was put inside of the chocolate. They believe it is a piece of graphite pencil lead.
Police say the candy came from the Ross Manor section of Fallowfield Township during trick or treat.
Washington Township Police added this message to their Facebook posting:
"Please make sure to check all Halloween candy before consumption. Be on the lookout for any opened or damaged wrappers or packaging. If it does not look right, it probably is not."
