San Diego Church Newsletter Says Democratic Voters Go To Hell
SAN DIEGO (KDKA) -- A newsletter from a San Diego Catholic church is warning parishioners they'll go to hell if they vote for Democrats.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a flier placed inside the Oct. 16 bulletin of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church called voting Democratic a mortal sin.
The flyer cites five legislative policies -- support for abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, human cloning, and embryonic stem cell research — that will doom a politician and their supporters to eternal damnation.

"It is a mortal sin to vote Democrat … immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell," the flyer said. It cited the five public policy issues from the "Voters Guide for Serious Catholics" and said that Democrats violate each of them, while Republicans cross none.
CBS News reports the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego said Wednesday that the messages don't reflect Catholic teaching and are inappropriate. The diocese says people should vote their consciences.
