Rape Suspect Arrested In Hazelwood
HAZELWOOD (KDKA) -- A rape suspect was arrested in Hazelwood early Saturday morning.
Lee Harris was wanted for indecent assault by force, unlawful restraint, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and terroristic threats.
According to police, Harris was believed to be in an apartment building in the 5200 block of Gertrude Street around 12:30 a.m. Officers and a SWAT team were sent to the scene and found Harris in the basement around 2:30 a.m. He was taken into custody at that time.
Police say Harris refused officers' commands, so a K-9 was used. Harris sustained a bite to his lower right leg. He was treated at UPMC Mercy before being sent to the Allegheny County Jail.
