Case Of Whooping Cough Identified At Plum School

PLUM (KDKA) -- A case of Whooping Cough, also known as Pertussis, has been identified at Holiday Park Elementary in Plum.

According to a statement form Plum Borough School District, the Allegheny County Health Department has been notified, investigated the situation, and say that the child is receiving appropriate treatment.

Students diagnosed with this condition must be placed on antibiotic therapy and excluded from school for the first five days after starting treatment.
