Social Media Reacts: Were The Pittsburgh Steelers Cursed By Donald Trump?

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Remember the early days of October, when the Pittsburgh Steelers were 4-1 and looking like early Super Bowl favorites?

As Steelers fans know, that feels like a century ago.

Sunday the Steelers lost a heartbreaker to the Dallas Cowboys, 35-30.

It was the team's 4th loss in a row, a feat that doesn't come natural to Steelers fans.

What could be causing the Steelers slide? Could it be quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn't 100% after having knee surgery? Could it be the defense?

Or could it be something even worse, like a curse?

As you can imagine social media has weighed in on the Steelers slide and they have some theories.

Most notably: The Trump Curse.

Just take a look what was trending in Pittsburgh after Sunday's loss.

You see President-elect Donald Trump held a rally in Ambridge on October 10th.

During that rally the then presidential candidate waved a terrible towel to hundreds of supporters.

He even claimed that the Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was a friend of his.

Since that day the Steelers haven't won a game and have been outscored 113-75.

Now most people don't believe in curses, and the Steelers do play the Cleveland Browns this week, a team that hasn't won a game.

But you can bet that if the winless Browns somehow find a way to beat the Steelers, talk of a curse will take on a life of its own.

The New England Patriots also lost Sunday night. Their loss comes after coach Bill Belichick wrote a letter to Donald Trump.

A lot of NFL teams are now jumping on the Trump curse bandwagon, including Minnesota Vikings fans.
