Does It Really Do That? Tree Dazzler

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - When it comes to Christmas, Jennifer Pollard, pulls out all the stops. Just about every inch of her Washington County home is decorated.

She typically puts up at least three trees covered with traditional lights.

"A tree like this, usually is about 14 to 16 strands, so a lot of lights," said Pollard.

It takes her hours to put together and perfect the 9-foot artificial tree in her entryway.

"The lights are a pain," said Pollard.

Jen says the hard work is well worth it, but she was eager to test out a product that could possibly simplify the process.

Tree Dazzler is advertised as a spectacular new lighting system that instantly creates an amazing holiday light show on any Christmas tree.

The instructions are simple.

Jen and KDKA-TV's Sarah Arbogast took the product out of the box and in just seconds, it was ready to be placed on the top of the tree. Jen had no problems attaching it.

They plugged it in and with a quick click of a button, they were in business. The remote, connected to one of the strands, has three options. All three were tried and worked as promised.

The infomercial claims if you want even more lights, you can stack Tree Dazzlers.

They tried that on a slightly smaller tree.

They did notice that not all tree toppers fit over Tree Dazzler. So, if you want to hide the product's plastic ring, be careful about that.

All in all, although Jen admits that the Tree Dazzler and the LED lights aren't her style, but the product does work as promised. It was easy to install, the vertical strands of lights didn't tangle, and there were plenty of colorful light show options. It can also save even the most experienced decorator lots of time.

"Tons easier, it takes hours to really put them on and get them in the limbs and really have them placed just right and this just took a few minutes," said Pollard.

Tree Dazzler costs about $40 online and in stores.
