9 Displaced After East Pittsburgh House Fire
EAST PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A fire broke out at a home in East Pittsburgh on Sunday evening.
It happened at a 3-story residence in the 400-block of Western Avenue around 6:30 p.m. There were three apartments in the home.
Crews were still battling the flames around 7:30 p.m. According to Terri Privett, who lived on the second-floor apartment, firefighters were still trying to get a dog out of the top-floor apartment at that time.
KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports that 9 people have been displaced because of the fire, but no injuries have been reported.
He also reports that the borough's volunteer fire department was disbanded last year.
