Family Seeks Answers After Man Hit & Killed In Beaver Co.

INDUSTRY (KDKA) – Family members are mourning after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Beaver County early Sunday morning.

"He was just a great person.  It's really sad he's not here today," John Bixler said.

John Bixler and his sister, Rachal Davis, are remembering their cousin, Brandon Bixler, 25.

"He had a couple drinks at the bar and was walking home. He lives local," John Bixler said.

He was walking home from Luanne's, which is along State Route 68 in Industry, Beaver County.

Police say a passing car saw an object on State Route 68 in Industry and called 911 after they realized it was a person.

They say Bixler was walking along the highway in the westbound lane when he was struck and killed.  Relatives say his girlfriend found him.

"If you intentionally did it I'd like to know why and if you didn't, why didn't you stop," Rachal Davis said. "That could have been a life or death situation and you left him there to die a horrible way."

Police are calling the accident a suspicious death right now. They're looking for a white vehicle, possibly a Honda because they have parts at the scene that match.

"He was an amazing person. Always there for everybody. Give the shirt off his back for anybody," Bixler said.

Bixler's girlfriend has four children. They say their dad isn't in the picture so Bixler treated them like his own.

"He always introduced them as his children. They weren't his step kids, they were his," Davis said.

Bixler's autopsy took place Sunday night. The Beaver County Coroner says he died from blunt force trauma to the head and trunk.

Beaver Borough and the Pennsylvania State Police are both handling this investigation. If you have any information, you're being asked to contact them.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Bixler's funeral costs. For more information, visit the page here.
