Trump’s Pennsylvania Lead Shrinks As Counties Wrap Up Counts

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – President-elect Donald Trump’s margin of victory in Pennsylvania is shrinking as more counties wrap up final tallies of provisional and overseas ballots.

An updated count Friday by state election officials shows Trump’s lead shrinking to 49,000 from 71,000 over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

A big chunk of newly counted Clinton votes came from Philadelphia. Several counties are still finalizing totals, but Douglas Hill of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania says there aren’t enough uncounted ballots outstanding to change the outcome of Pennsylvania’s presidential election.

The update comes as Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein spearheads recount efforts in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, states where Trump narrowly beat Clinton.

Trump’s lead is 0.8 percent, down from over 1 percent, out of 6 million votes cast. That’s shy of Pennsylvania’s 0.5 percent trigger for an automatic statewide recount.

  1. Were these the same Philly precincts that voted 100% Obama or the ones that had 108% voter participation? Either way, it seems legit…

  2. Tony Trapani says:

this is what happens when dems play with votes they cheat.

  3. No this is what happens when Republicans control both houses of the commonwealth and gerry mander the voting districts . And we are supposed to believe the Republican Douglas Hill head of the state county commissioners , please give us a break . Why then are the Trumpsters lawyers and him trying to block a statewide recount ? hmmm could it be the voting was hacked ? what’s he afraid of if it was legit ??? you people need to THINK !!!!

  4. Chris Helf says:

Elections have consequence. Gerrymandering is perfectly fine when your side holds the levers of power. If your in the minority and complaining about it or running to courts, this is not a solution to the problem that your side cannot get more people to come to your side.

  5. Tony Balsama says:

Lol… Philadelphia , one of the top 5 most Dem corrupt cities in the country has “late” uncounted votes? Go figure! The recount process is a slap in the face to the election process. Now we know Trump won without the help of illegal immigrants and dead voters. I’m sure a recount in NY and Cali will show this in Madame’s pop vote count. I’m just as sure of that as Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton demanding recounts in WI, MI and PA and without spending taxpayers money.
