Anonymous Stranger Pays All Overdue Lunch Balances At Elementary School

HERMINIE (KDKA) -- The sign outside H.W. Good Elementary School in the Yough School District reads "Happy Holidays," and something very happy happened here recently.

"There are very good people in this world," said Principal Amy Larcinese.

Larcinese oversees more than 300 students, and lunch for these little ones is a big deal.

"For some our kids the only meal they get are the two they get in school," she said.

Several of the kids had overdue balances on their lunch accounts.

"I know that it's not that they don't want to pay their account balances, they just cant afford to do it right now," Larcinese said.

"Showed up here yesterday with a check, paid off all the account balances and also asked if there was a student with a very large account balance, and paid for that child's lunch for the rest of the month as well," she said.

We don't know who it is, just that long ago he had a child attend the school.

"He just wanted to give back to the district," Larcinese said. "It's an amazing feeling someone would want to help as many students as they have."

The parents of the kids whose accounts are now in the black will be getting a note telling them how its all squared, but they won't find out who paid.

"He does not want to be recognized. I am sworn to secrecy," Larcinese said.
