Stores Receiving New Shipment Of Hatchimals This Weekend

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- If you want to get your hands on the most popular holiday gift this season, you'll have the chance to do so this weekend.

Adrianne Guerke had to have Hatchimals for her daughters. But as every Santa's helper is learning, getting one requires some extraordinary effort.

"Started researching, I was looking at websites, I was tracking Target starting at midnight I was setting my alarm clock every two hours looking for these things," she said.

Which is when the reality set in: You simply have to be there when they land at your local store.

It's a quest parents all over the country are on.

The managers at Toys "R" Us tell KDKA they never know when Hatchimals will be on the truck that arrives at their back door, but when they arrive they're quickly gone, one per customer.

Walmart says many of it's stores will get dozens between Thursday and Dec. 19, but there is no predicting when they'll arrive, you just have to keep checking.

Walmart supplied KDKA with a list of locations.

Of course you could get one online.

"I've seen them up to $900 on eBay, I got a notification they were in Mexico for $1,900," Guerke said. They cost around $50 in the store.
