Food Processors Recalled; Metal Pieces Could Break Into Processed Food

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Millions of food processors are being recalled due to the possibility of small pieces of metal breaking off into food.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the riveted blade in certain Cuisinart food processors can crack over time, and small metal pieces can break off into processed food, posing a laceration hazard.

About 8 million food processors are affected by this recall.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says Conair has received 69 reports of consumers finding metal pieces in their food.

Consumers can contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade.
