Anonymous Donor Gives 1,000 Pounds Of Ham In Monroeville Nun's Name

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- A local business owner reached out to Get Marty to make an amazing Christmas gesture in the name of a local Catholic nun.

"Everybody needs nourished. All children need nourished. Sister Carol has nourished these children. As far as I'm concerned she's the Mother Theresa of Monroeville," said an anonymous donor.

He's talking about Sister Carol Arch. Sister Carol has been a Catholic nun for 60 years. She's been a teacher and principle at St. Bernadette's Catholic School in Monroeville for forty years.

In honor of her 60 years of service the anonymous donor donated 60 hams in her name.

That's 1,000 pounds of ham. It's enough ham to feed 3,000 - 4,000 people.

"I'm blessed over and over again by the wonderful people of St. Bernadette's Parish. The "ham man" goes to church here. It's wonderful to know that other people bless my life."

Sister Carol decided to donate the sixty hams to four different charities. Sister Place will give 30 hams to 30 families.

The rest of the hams will go to Angels Place, Jubilee Kitchen and The Sisters of St. Joseph mother house.
