HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (KDKA) — This is not a drill!
Millions of people have been watching a live cam of April the Giraffe, waiting for her to give birth, and on Saturday, the time finally came!
The zoo confirmed that April was in labor in a video on their Facebook page around 7:30 a.m., and her calf was born just before 10 a.m.
The birth happens in the video below just before the 2-hour-29-minute mark.
Animal Adventure Park posted a closer look at the birth and the calf on their Facebook page.
After a few failed attempts, the calf managed to stand up for the first time around 10:30 a.m.
Animal Adventure Park revealed just before 2 p.m. that the calf is a boy and they need help picking out a name.
The zoo began streaming live footage of April’s pen on Feb. 23.
This is April’s 4th calf, but the first calf for Animal Adventure Park.
