Half-Brother Of Former Boxer Paul Spadafora Found Dead Of Apparent Overdose

WESTWOOD (KDKA) - The half-brother of former boxer Paul Spadafora was found dead Tuesday morning.

Sources tell KDKA-TV police and medics were called to a house on Kearns Avenue in Westwood early Tuesday morning for reports of a drug overdose.

People going in and out of the home confirmed that someone had passed away there, and KDKA has learned that person was Charles Marsico, half-brother of the Pittsburgh Kid, Paul Spadafora.

Marsico made headlines last year, when Spadafora was charged with assaulting Marsico, their mother and Pittsburgh Police officers in his home.

Marsico told police Spadafora stabbed him in the thigh.

In an earlier incident, Marsico himself was arrested and charged with exposing himself in public after neighbors reported he was yelling, drinking, masturbating and urinating from the front porch of a home near Beechwood Elementary School.

Spadafora had been in the Allegheny County Jail since the incident. He has in the past been ordered to undergo anger management and in-patient treatment in the jail. Spadafora is a former lightweight boxing champion.
