OVERBROOK (KDKA) – A downed power line had a big impact on the morning commute.

According to officials at the scene, a high-tension line came down along Library Road (Route 88) around 7 a.m. in Overbrook.

The fallen wire was lying across two lanes of Library Road and drooping across the other two.

No one was hurt, but it forced Library Road to close between McNeilly Road in Overbrook and Sixth Street/Killarney Drive in Castle Shannon.

Anthony Knorr works right across from where the high-tension power wire fell.

"I work right there where the power line is down and had to go all the way around and now, I think everybody's a little stuck in traffic," Knorr said.

He considers himself one of the lucky ones because he was actually able to get to work.

"Everyone's that's supposed to be here is waiting to get to work though the traffic and whatnot and figuring a way around," he said.

The issue knocked out power to about 100 Duquesne Light customers. However, service has been restored.

Meanwhile, the road reopened around 9 a.m.
