A neighbor tells KDKA's Julie Grant that the woman's daughter and sister were home at the time and called 911.
"She was a crossing guard here at Braddock, and she was coming back from doing her crossing guard thing," said neighbor Sanford Barnes. "What happened was the porch collapsed and she fell through it and the bricks came on top of her."
Barnes says he does not feel safe in the neighborhood.
"I don't feel safe here period," he said. "You got some major trains that come past here, so you know the buildings, they're shaking the buildings. You know the foundations are going to be messed up."
The property is owned by the Allegheny County Housing Authority. They spent much of the evening examining the porch and securing it, as well as checking the porch next door.
There's no word yet on what caused the collapse.
