After 3 games the Pitt Panthers rank fourth in the nation in rushing offense. Sophomore James Conner is second in the nation with 544 yards and is just 5 yards from being the best in FBS. So head coach Paul Chryst must be pleased with that part of his of his team.

Since that time, Minnesota benched star running back Adrian Peterson for an indictment for “reckless or negligent injury to a child”-his 4-year-old son who he hit with a switch. Carolina’s Greg Hardy was also benched for domestic abuse charges.
Coming off getting a win over the Chicago Cubs, Pirates starter Edinson Volquez joined Pirates postgame with Dan Zangrilli and Kevin Orie and talked about where he sees himself next year given that he’s a free agent following this season.

The Pitt Panthers continued preparations for Saturday’s game against the FIU Panthers in Miami. Redshirt sophomore Gabe Roberts and redshirt freshman Alex Officer divided time at center, and offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph suggested both will play in place Artie Rowell, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Boston College game. Rudolph said rotating centers is “a real possibility, and we wouldn’t be against it.”
