“Bathtub” Area Of Parkway East To Close This Weekend

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The “bathtub” area of the Parkway East is scheduled to close this weekend.

Crews will be repaving from the Grant Street exit all the way down to the Fort Pitt Bridge. The closure is only for westbound traffic.

There is a detour route. Traffic will be funneled into one lane and forced off the parkway to the Grant Street exit. It will progress down Fort Pitt Boulevard to Stanwix Street, where drivers can get on the on-ramp to get back on the parkway.

The Grant Street on-ramp to the westbound Parkway East, the eastbound Parkway East off-ramp to Grant Street, the Boulevard of the Allies on-ramp to the westbound Parkway East and the Smithfield Street ramp to Grant will be closed because of this road work.

Contruction begins at 10 p.m. Friday and will continue until early Monday morning.

Liberty Bridge Inspection Begins Wednesday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Inspections will take place on the Liberty Bridge in Pittsburgh Wednesday night.

PennDOT District 11 announced it will close the right lane on the inbound (northbound) side of the bridge near the Boulevard of the Allies exit from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 2 a.m. Thursday. All ramps will remain open.

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.

Route 28 Southbound Closed Wednesday Night

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — PennDOT District 11 announced Monday that Route 28 southbound will be closed Wednesday night at the 40th Street Bridge in Millvale.

The closure will take place from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Crews will be on the scene installing an overhead sign structure between the Millvale interchange (Exit 3) and the former Millvale Industrial Park site.

All southbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane, which will cross the 40th Street Bridge to Butler Street and then on to Penn Avenue to the 16th Street Bridge.

Traffic on the 40th Street Bridge will not have access to southbound Route 28. Northbound Route 28 and Millvale will remain open.

Traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur on northbound Route 28.

Overnight single-lane closures are expected from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday morning once the sign is installed for sign and message board installations.

‘One Shot’ Filming To Close Downtown Roads Overnight

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Several downtown streets will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday due to the filming of “One Shot.”

The movie, which stars Tom Cruise, has been filming for over a month in the Steel City.

The Pittsburgh Film Office announced the following closures:

Fort Pitt Boulevard from Stanwix Street to I-279 Exit 70C
Commonwealth Place from Fort Boulevard to Liberty Avenue
Fort Pitt Boulevard from Commonwealth Place to Stanwix Street
Exit 70C (1A) to Ft. Duquesne Bridge on I-376
Ft. Pitt Boulevard from Stanwix Street to Commonwealth Place
Stanwix Street from Boulevard of the Allies to Fort Pitt Boulevard
