CONSOL Energy Center is the newest arena in Pittsburgh, which plays host to events, concerts and sporting events. It is the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who moved from their former home across the street prior to the 2010-11 NHL season. The CONSOL Energy Center has 18,387 seats for Penguins’ games — 1,147 more than their former game venue at the Civic Arena. CONSOL Energy Center is located in downtown Pittsburgh. If you are in town for an event being held at CONSOL Center, you will find an ample amount of interesting places and exciting activities to occupy your time.

Tickets for events at the CONSOL Center can be purchased in many ways.


Charge by phone 1-800-745-3000 (M-F 9 a.m.- 9 p.m., Sat 9 a.m – 7 p.m., Sun 9 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Ticketmaster Online:

Dick’s Sporting Goods Box Office at the CONSOL Energy Center

Enter the venue through the Trib Total Media gate.

Box office is open M-F 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.- 4p.m. and is closed on Sundays except for days of events. Box office hours on event days vary depending upon the event time.

Executive and Club Suites:

Executive Suites
Guests enter through a private indoor parking garage with direct access to their suite. Open-air seating is amongst the amenities, though the suite is private. Each executive suite is equipped with two HD televisions, wet bar and in-suite restrooms.

Club Suites
There are six club suite areas available, all of which are on the lower level of the CONSOL Center. The suites are located inside of the club lounge area with access to the lower concourse. Full premium amenities are offered.

Premium amenities include: Keyless suite access, full-size refrigerator, wet bar, wireless Internet access, HD televisions, open-air seating, and private restrooms.

Benefits of suites: early access to CONSOL Center ticket purchasing, complimentary parking in garage, access to three lounges, game stats delivered to each suite prior to games, in-suite catering.

About The Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are owned by the Lemieux Group L.P. Mario Lemieux, a former Penguin, now is a co-owner of the team. Ronald Burkle is the other co-owner of the Pens. Burkle is a well-known investor who helped in the negotiations to get the Pens a new arena.

The Penguins have sold out every game for three whole seasons since Lemieux and Burkle took over in 1999. The Penguins have won three Stanley Cups in their history in the 1991-92, 1992-93 and 2008-09 seasons.

The Pens have had a number of notable players including Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, and Jean Pronovost.

Currently, the Pens have some big names on their team including; Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Tyler Kennedy, Brooks Orpik and Marc Andre-Fleury. For a full roster of the Pens 2010-11 team, visit the pens website.

    went to monster trucks was not impressed mellon arena seemed bigger and better for events. i thought i was in a mall

      I was there also but was impressed with the added inch or so size of the console over mellon, did miss the entrance of gravedigger coming out the east end of the arena while bad to the bone was playing though.
