Golden State has won seven straight and holds a two-and-a-half-game lead over San Antonio for the top spot in the Western Conference. The Warriors, who lead the NBA in assists percentage, registered an assist on 84 percent of their field goals against the Kings on Friday, giving them three of the top five marks in a game this year, including the top two.
2 San Antonio Spurs San Antonio Spurs 56-16
Kawhi Leonard has extended his double-figure streak to 99 straight games. San Antonio has a tough stretch of games this week, hosting the Cavs, Warriors and Jazz while also traveling to Utah.
3 Houston Rockets Houston Rockets 51-22
The Rockets have won 50 games for the third time in four years, and have essentially clinched the third spot in the Western Conference. James Harden had his four-game streak of least 35 points and 10 assists snapped in a win over Oklahoma City on Sunday.
4 Boston Celtics Boston Celtics 48-26
The Celtics have won seven of eight and are now up against the Cavs for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Isaiah Thomas, who has a three-pointer in 48 straight games, is tied with Russell Westbrook with 65 games of at least 20 points. Boston gave up a franchise-record 70 points to Devin Booker in 130-120 win over Phoenix on Friday.
5 Washington Wizards Washington Wizards 45-28

The Wizards have won three in a row to remain in the third spot in the Eastern Conference. Bojan Bogdanovic has been a great addition to the Wizards’ bench, producing 14.8 points while shooting 47.3% from the floor and 40.5% from beyond the arc in 17 games. Washington, 29-10 since Jan. 6, has four games left on its current five-game road trip. They are 16-18 away from home.
6 Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland Cavaliers 47-25

The Cavs are 5-7 in their last 12 games, as they have allowed 120 points in five of those setbacks. Kyrie Irving has scored at least 20 points in 21 straight games, which is the longest active streak. Cleveland plays four games this week, starting with a game at San Antonio, and then travels to Chicago before ending the week at home against Philadelphia and Indiana.
7 Toronto Raptors Toronto Raptors 44-29

The Raptors have won five in a row and are one game out of the third spot in the Eastern Conference. DeMar DeRozan went 12-of-13 from the free-throw line on Thursday in a win over the Heat to become the first Raptor to top 3,000 made free throws. Toronto, which has19 comeback victories when trailing by double-digits, is in the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year.
8 Utah Jazz Utah Jazz 44-29

The Jazz have lost four of five and now hold just a half-game lead over the Clippers for the fourth spot in the Western Conference. Rudy Gobert, who dropped a season-high 35 points in a win over the Knicks on Friday, has scored 61 points over his last two games and has posted five straight double-doubles.
9 Oklahoma City Thunder Oklahoma City Thunder 41-31

The Thunder have lost two of three games and are now one-and-a-half games out of the fifth spot in the Western Conference. Both of the losses were to teams with winning records, dropping their records to 15-19 versus teams with a .500 or better record. OKC owns the worst road winning percentage among teams currently in the Western Conference playoffs at 14-21.
10 Milwaukee Bucks Milwaukee Bucks 37-36

The Bucks have won three of four and are 7-3 in their last 10. Milwaukee is tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference with Atlanta, although they are just a-half game ahead of Indiana and one-and-half in front of Miami. Khris Middleton has missed 23 shots (7-of-30), as he has been held to 20 points in the last two games.
11 Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Clippers 44-31

The Clippers are one game behind the Jazz for fourth place in the Western Conference playoff race. Los Angeles earned an important tiebreaker over Utah, taking the season series 3-1 with Saturday’s victory. The Clips have made the playoffs a franchise-high six straight years.
12 Miami Heat Miami Heat 35-38

The Heat have dropped into eighth place after losing three of four games and are now just a half-game ahead of the Bulls. Miami plays its next five games against teams with a losing record, starting with the Pistons on Tuesday. The Heat are 18-18 against teams with a sub-.500 record.
13 Memphis Grizzlies Memphis Grizzlies 40-33
The Grizzlies have lost three straight and 10 of 16. Memphis is seventh in the Western Conference, one and a-half games behind OKC. Mike Conley dumped in 29 points in loss to the Warriors (Sunday) for his fifth game of at least 20 points in the past seven contests.
14 Portland Trail Blazers Portland Trail Blazers 35-38

The Blazers have won 10 of 13 to keep pace with the Nuggets and stay tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Allen Crabbe has canned a three-pointer in 14 straight games. Portland plays seven of its last 10 games at home, where they are 19-15 on the season.
15 Indiana Pacers Indiana Pacers 37-36

The Pacers are tied for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference with the Bucks and Hawks. Myles Turner, who tallied his 13th double-double of the season on Sunday, has recorded 12 blocks and five steals over his last four games. Al Jefferson is expected to miss a few days after spraining his left ankle against the 76ers on Sunday.
16 Denver Nuggets Denver Nuggets 35-38
The Nuggets fell into a tie with the Blazers for the eighth spot in the Western Conference with its 115-90 setback to the Pelicans on Sunday. Denver shot just 37.9 percent from the field on Sunday. The Nuggets, who are 0-13 in games they fail to reach the century mark, also did not make nine three-pointers in a game for the first time in 25 contests on Sunday.
17 Atlanta Hawks Atlanta Hawks 37-36

The Hawks have the second current longest losing streak in the NBA at seven games. Four of Atlanta’s losses in the recent stretch have been by double-figures, giving them 20 losses by 10 or more points, which is the most among teams currently in the top-eight spots in the Eastern Conference.
18 Detroit Pistons Detroit Pistons 34-39
The Pistons are still in the hunt for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, despite losing three in a row. All three of Detroit’s losses during the recent stretch have been to teams with a losing record. The Pistons are now 24-14 against teams with a record below .500. Andre Drummond became just the second player to haul in 1,000 rebounds before his 24th birthday on Friday.
19 Charlotte Hornets Charlotte Hornets 33-40

The Hornets have gone 4-1 in their last five games to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Charlotte, which has the best point differential of the four teams battling for the eighth and final playoff spot, is currently 11th in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the Heat. Kemba Walker tallied 31 points in win over the Suns for his 50th 20-point game of the season (third most in franchise history).
20 Dallas Mavericks Dallas Mavericks 31-41

Time is running out for the Mavericks, who are in the 10th spot in the Western Conference and four games behind the eighth-place Nuggets. With the Mavs going with a big lineup, Harrison Barnes has thrived in the move to small forward, tossing in 44 points on 17-of-35 shooting in the last two games. Dallas’ 16-year streak of finishing with at least a .500 record is in major jeopardy as they play seven of their last 10 on the road, where they are 10-24 for the season.
21 New Orleans Pelicans New Orleans Pelicans 31-42

Anthony Davis tallied 14 of his 31 points in the first quarter in a win over the Nuggets to mark the 29th time this season he has scored in double-figures in the opening quarter. Davis has an NBA-best 14 games of 30 points and 15 rebounds. The Pelicans, who are 11th in the Western Conference, are 8-8 since acquiring DeMarcus Cousins.
22 Philadelphia 76ers Philadelphia 76ers 27-46
Dario Saric scored a career-high 32 points on Friday, marking the second time in franchise history rookie teammates have tallied 30 or more points in the same season. Joel Embiid poured in 33 points against Brooklyn on Dec. 18. Saric had his NBA-high 22-game streak of double-digit scoring games snapped after being held to nine points in loss to the Pacers on Sunday.
23 Chicago Bulls Chicago Bulls 35-39
The Bulls improved to 4-9 in their last 13 games to remain in contention for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with their win over Milwaukee on Sunday. Nikola Mirotic has scored double-figures in each of his last three games, including two 28-point games where he made 23-of-29 shots. Chicago goes for a season sweep of Cleveland on Thursday; the Bulls have outscored the Cavs by 32.
24 Minnesota Timberwolves Minnesota Timberwolves 28-44
The Timberwolves have lost six straight games overall and seven consecutive on the road to drop their record to 10-25 away from home. Andrew Wiggins has scored 20 points in six straight games, though he is going through the worst month of the season, averaging 21.4 points while shooting 38.9 percent from the field. Minnesota will finish with a losing record for the 12th straight season.
25 New York Knicks New York Knicks 27-46
Willy Hernangomez scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against the Spurs for his eighth double-double of the season. The Knicks are 11-29 in 2017, which includes four losing streaks of at least three games. Joakim Noah has been suspended 20 games by the NBA for a banned-drug violation.
26 Phoenix Suns Phoenix Suns 22-52
The Suns have lost eight in a row. Devin Booker poured in 70 points against against Boston on Friday to become the youngest player in NBA history to reach the 70-point plateau. Phoenix, which surrenders 112.9 points a game, has given up 112 points in its last five contests.
27 Orlando Magic Orlando Magic 27-46
Elfrid Payton picked up his fourth triple-double in March with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over the Pistons on Friday. Orlando held a lead of 30 or more points in a game for the first time against Detroit. The Magic would have to win eight of their last nine to match last season’s win total (35).
28 Brooklyn Nets Brooklyn Nets 16-57
The Nets are having their best month of the season, posting a 7-8 record. Brooklyn’s victory over Atlanta on Sunday was its sixth road win of the year. Brook Lopez became the franchise all-time leader in field goal makes, with 3,982.
29 Sacramento Kings Sacramento Kings 28-45
The Kings became the second team to overcome an 18-point deficit in the final five minutes to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers (98-97) on Sunday. Sacramento is 4-12 since trading DeMarcus Cousins. Willie Cauley-Stein is having his most productive month of his young career, averaging 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor.
30 Los Angeles Lakers Los Angeles Lakers 21-52
Jordan Clarkson poured in a career-high 35 points on 13-of-20 shooting, including 8 of 10 from behind the arc, in a 130-119 overtime win over the Timberwolves on Friday. It was Los Angeles’ first overtime game of the year. The Lakers have the worst scoring differential in the nation at minus-7.4.
