aka Bonny Hall until I was recruited to Pittsburgh in 1993 by 3WS. My program director wanted me to learn to scuba dive and swim with the sharks at the zoo! I took the scuba lessons and was happier over the water than under the water! My name should be Bonny Rider as I have had horses most of my life. Romeo is my oldest “son”, a large Holsteiner horse imported from Brazil. He has taken me in the hunter/jumper show ring to win many ribbons including Champion Adult Rider in 2005 and Reserve Champion in 2007 for the Western PA Professional Horsemen Association. I also ride Romeo in the field as I am a member of the Sewickley Hunt. My other “children” are Rocky, a rescue setter/golden mix who goes on my trail rides with Romeo. Sammy and Louise E Anna Carmella Suzanne are the 2 house cats.
I hail from ‘land of the flat” central Ohio where I went to CapitalUniversity, graduated with an art education degree, taught school for 5 years before being cut back. I then followed my dream of working in radio and have been talking for over 25 years. In 2003, I battled and beat breast cancer. The following year I started a non profit, Hair Peace Charities, helping local women buy wigs needed from cancer treatments and supporting them in faith. I am a member of IngomarMethodist Church which helps me with the Hair Peace outreach. My husband Jamie the angel, is more than understanding with my many activities!
KDKA’s own Bonny Diver joined Rob Pratte to talk about her yearly Recipe for Hope event, which benefits Hair Peace charities.
