Kevin Orie is in his 2nd season as the co-host of 93.7 The Fan’s Pre and Post game coverage of Pirates Baseball.
The West Chester native played high school baseball at Upper St. Clair and went on to a standout colligate career with the Indiana Hoosiers Baseball Team.
In 1993, the Chicago Cubs selected Orie in the 1st round of the June Amateur Draft with the 29th overall selection.
Orie made his major league debut on April 1, 1997 with the Cubs. He hit .275 his rookie year and was one of the NL’s leaders in fielding percentage and putouts as a third baseman. He finished that season as a finalist for Rookie of the Year honors.
Kevin went on to play over 300 games at the major league level with the Cubs (1997-98 and 2002) and Florida Marlins (1998-99). Overall, he played over 1,000 games professionally, having also spent time in the Royals, Yankees, Phillies, Indians, Brewers, Nationals and Astros Organizations.
He currently resides in Fox Chapel with his family.
