Before coming to KDKA, Kym worked at FOX 53 in Pittsburgh and in her hometown of Wheeling, W. Va. as an anchor at WTOV.

She is a member of the non-profit organization Women In Film and Media, where she mentors young women in the broadcasting industry.

Kym likes to refer to herself as a “story-teller.” She makes it a goal to gain the trust of her interview subjects and give viewers a unique perspective of the big story of the day.

Kym has an extensive dance and theater background, and still enjoys taking dance classes at the studio her children attend.

She has training in the martial arts, in the Goju ryu style of karate.

Always thrilled by getting “that great deal,” Kym considers herself an expert bargain-shopper and coupon-clipper and loves sharing her saving secrets with others.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Liberty University.
