Three Rivers Arts Festival - 5 Artists In The Spotlight
Jenna Vanden-Brink is just one of the several ceramic artists that make up the company Union Project. Originally from Detroit, Mich., Jenna now resides in East Liberty. This is her first year as an artist at Arts Fest, but Union Project has been participating for about five years now. She likes working and presenting everything together with her fellow colleagues. Her parents were artists, which got her interested in ceramics and pottery.

Lex Covato is a Pittsburgh native. This is her first year as a vendor at the Arts Fest. Her work is a blend of pop culture and some spiritual influence. She loves that her art work is being featured and available for everyone to see and enjoy. When she paints she says she feels passion, like she is meditating.

Chung Wang is from Kansas City and it is his first year at Arts Fest; however, he has sold his work four previous times in the Midwest near his hometown. He loves when people stop by and admire his work. He enjoys painting different subjects, from a boat on the water to fruit and flowers. Chung likes to mix it up and use many colors to bring his art work to life.

Aileen Lampman-Francioni is from Mt. Lebanon. She has been selling her jewelry at the Arts Fest for five years, and has been in the jewelry business for about 20. She said that after a long winter of being cooped up, it's nice to come out and have people see her work. Her jewelry is inspired by nature. She also created a special leaf necklace when the G-20 Summit came to Pittsburgh in Sept. 2009.

Maria Napoli is from Louisville, Ky. It is her ninth year selling her work at Arts Fest. Her art can be described as abstract. She says it just feels natural when she paints. She loves being at Arts Fest because she feels that the people really appreciate her work. Also, she has family here in Pittsburgh and she enjoys seeing them as well.
