On Friday, Aug. 5, crews working on "The Dark Knight Rises" began transforming Heinz Field into "Gotham Stadium."

The logo of the Gotham Rogues was placed in the middle of the field.

From Lawrenceville to Oakland, film crews have been busy shooting scenes for the newest “Batman” movie all over town.

The movies crews are also set to shoot in downtown Pittsburgh.

And, while it may be summertime in the 'Burgh, it's winter in Gotham City as snow was seen flying during filming in Oakland!

Security was tight for the shoot. Yellow-jacketed security crews, normally in place on game days, were patrolling the perimeter of Heinz Field the day before filming even started.

In addition to some familiar Pittsburgh landmarks, there may be some familiar Pittsburgh faces in the film.

About a dozen Steelers are playing members of the Gotham Rogues!

The list includes Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu, James Farrior, Mike Wallace, Heath Miller, Aaron Smith, Clark, Willie Colon, Maurkice Pouncey, LaMarr Woodley and Casey Hampton.

Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher was at Gotham Stadium, too. He said he hoped to maybe even have a line in the film.
