It’s hard to believe but 10 years ago we were glued to our televisions as crews worked tirelessly to pull nine men from a flooded mine in Somerset County. Ten years later, they gathered to celebrate that incredible rescue with some of the survivors and their rescuers reunited for the emotional anniversary.
Thousands of people gathered in Shanksville on Sunday to pay their respects to the heroes who were on board Flight 93 when it went down in an open field 10 years ago in Somerset County.
Rain caused parking lots at the Flight 93 Memorial site to become mud pits on Friday. There was gridlock as the Park Service had to find new places for people to park.
Genelle Guzman-McMillan was the last confirmed survivor pulled from the wreckage of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. She is the author of Angel in the Rubble, which recounts her experience buried among the ruins at Ground Zero.
With just one week until the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, some dramatic new video taken just after the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Somerset County, has surfaced.
