The Allegheny County Parks Department released their 2013 Fun Guide on Thursday.
Families have a great opportunity to engage in swimming activities and lessons as there are many outside public pools and a system of county parks. There are private swim clubs for advanced and beginner levels, too. Many of the swimming lessons are on a pool pass, day pass or discounted days that include water aerobics and the best deal is a free-learn-to-swim category. As the children advance in their training; it may lead to becoming a member of a swim club, but the onus is just a fun, learning experience.
