It’s that time again. The time when one more win is all it takes to keep going. Score just one more point than the opponent and the season rolls on.

Dayton Runs On Dukes

Many times a stat sheet doesn’t tell the whole story, but it did tonight as Dayton (17-10, 7-6) defeated Duquesne (15-12, 6-7) 74-62 in a must-win game for both teams, as they stood tied in eighth place in the Atlantic 10.

Dukes Respond, Monteiro Feelin’ It In 77-67 Win

Luckily for Duquesne (15-10, 6-5), the first 45 seconds of last night’s game, where the Fordham Rams (9-15, 2-9) grabbed four consecutive offensive rebounds and kicked the ball out for four uncontested 3-pointers, none of which were made, did not set the pace for the rest of the game.

Duquesne Looks To Break Bonnies’ Home-Win Streak

Many things change from game to game, especially when over a month’s time has passed before taking on an opponent again. A team shoots better, a different player is more zoned in, calls go one way more than another and the variables go on. What you try to prepare for is what you know, and that’s exactly what Duquesne (14-9, 5-4) is doing going into their second meeting this season with St. Bonaventure (12-8, 5-4).

Duquesne With Solid 80-69 Win Over UMass

When the top two scoring teams in the Atlantic 10 face off, one would anticipate a fast-paced game. That’s exactly what went down in last night’s game, except Duquesne (12-7, 3-2) was able to effectively contain Massachusetts (14-5, 3-2), the top scoring team in the A-10, to eight points below their average while the Dukes scored above their average for the 80-69 win.

McConnell’s Career-High Not Enough As Dukes Lose In OT

In any team sport, the constant is that one team always wins and one team always loses, but in Duquesne’s 84-82 loss to Saint Joseph’s tonight, the loss stung as the Dukes blew a 16-point lead.

Duquesne Senior B.J. Monteiro: “Good Morning, And Something Else”

For Duquesne men’s basketball senior B.J. Monteiro, if he were to meet a complete stranger who knew nothing about him, he found a solution devoid of scientific testing to let everyone know that the game of basketball is in his blood.
