Boil Water Advisory
A boil water advisory for Aspinwall residents and the Water Works Mall following a large water main break Friday in Sharpsburg has been lifted.
A 60-inch water line broke Friday afternoon in Sharpsburg, causing problems in areas near Etna and Aspinwall.
The break in a filtration system was just the start of the problems for the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County last month.
Last week, officials with Pennsylvania American Water issued a “do not use” water warning due to elevated pH levels caused by malfunctioning equipment at a water treatment plant.
The department of environmental protection has given approval to lift the boil water advisory for the city of Aliquippa and its residents.
