Thousands remain under a precautionary boil water advisory in several communities in Westmoreland, as well as Allegheny and Armstrong counties, after a problem was discovered in the water filtration system.
Officials with the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County have issued a precautionary boil water alert for many of the communities they service.
Officials with Pennsylvania American Water say they have now lifted a “Do Not Use” water warning in Armstrong County and issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory.
