Carnegie Library Of Pittsburgh
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh may have the word “free” above its door, but rising costs have plagued the Library in recent years — even threatening to close some of its 18 city neighborhood branches.
The Library of the Future rolled into Market Square Friday morning. The 74-foot truck is home to the Digital Bookmobile, filled with state of the art library technology.
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is in need of some serious financial support. Several local groups have been working to generate funding for quite some time; and today, supporters presented a petition to City Council.
Raising taxes is not usually a popular idea, but the Carnegie Library is banking on Pittsburgh residents to approve a measure that would do just that.
