Police are asking for the public’s help as they work to identify the suspect in the armed robbery of a gas station Thursday evening in Carnegie.
Anytime there’s sustained, potentially heavy rain, it is cause for concern in flood-prone communities. Two such communities in our area have learned valuable lessons the hard way, and have taken steps to prepare for what Sandy could bring.
There are concerns in Carnegie after a leaking tanker forced evacuations and closed a road for hours. “Extremely disruptive,” Carnegie Mayor Jack Kobistek said. “Traffic – there was no easy flow of traffic to get onto 79. Most people didn’t even know what had happened.”
A man is facing several charges after the Carnegie Police Department was broken into and burglarized over the weekend.
The search continues for a third suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that left two people and an infant wounded in Carnegie.
Put your cell phone away when you get behind the wheel. A statewide ban on texting while driving is now in effect, carrying a $50 fine. The new law went into effect at midnight Thursday.
