The Batmobile is coming back to Pittsburgh. Actually six of them, dating back to Adam West and the Batman TV series to the current Bat-Pod featured in the “Dark Knight” trilogy, will be on display outside Heinz Field this weekend.
A black Lamborghini, transformed into a Batmobile, pulls up to the front of Children’s Hospital. The Caped Crusader who emerges is actually Baltimore businessman Lenny Robinson. His costume and his manner bring smiles to hospitalized youngsters nationwide.
Just like the Dark Knight, Batmania is rising across the country. And because parts of “The Dark Knight Rises” were shot locally, Pittsburgh is extra excited about the opening of the film.
Batman fans got a spectacle while watching the filming of “The Dark Knight Rises.” They saw the Batmobile crash into a hole on Cherry Way and an explosion arranged by the special effects crew.
If you use public transportation, filming of “The Dark Knight Rises” will probably affect your commute at some point while various scenes are being shot.
