Rain in the area apparently caused flooding in Baldwin. KDKA-TV has received reports of flooding on Streets Run Road.
The fight against rising water in Greenfield will have a new weapon as crews began installing a new line to prevent flooding Monday morning.
It rained hard this weekend and in the Oakwood section of Pittsburgh, two people had to be rescued from a pickup truck. “Once that creek runs full barrel, that water [has] nowhere to go but to back up onto the streets,” Pittsburgh Public Works Director Rob Kaczorowski said.
Downed trees and flooded roadways made for some hazardous conditions Sunday when strong storms battered the area. The storms were particularly bad just south and east of Pittsburgh.
The Sunday rain had been predicted, but even when it arrived, it seemed to come from out of nowhere. The storm brought lightning, thunder, heavy and fast rains and another round of flash flooding, trapping at least two people in a vehicle in East Carnegie.
The clean-up continues after Friday’s flash floods shut down roads, damaged homes and left behind a lot of mud and debris.

Hours after the flood waters receded in Pittsburgh’s South Hills neighborhoods, it was all about washing away the mess it had left behind.
Constant, steady and heavy rains throughout the day caused flash flooding that paralyzed some of the busiest roads in the South Hills Friday afternoon. Now, cleanup is underway as local residents and business try and pick up the pieces after a very big mess.
