In a game that was winnable, the Pittsburgh Steelers fall to .500 on the season after an abysmal showing against the Dallas Cowboys. Nearly every unit on the Steelers team receives a poor grade that only adds to the misery of a bitter defeat and their fourth loss in five games.
In their Monday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Pittsburgh Steelers looked distracted and unfocused. Saving the game was Lawrence Timmons as he grabbed a Matt Cassel toss during the overtime period to set up the game winning field goal. Leaving the field of play 16-13 counts as a win, but if quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is seriously injured, the Steelers may be on the road to further misery.
Peyton Manning showed that he can still run the no-huddle offense with incredible efficiency, and Pittsburgh’s defense didn’t have an answer for it. Ben Roethlisberger made some impressive plays, but he didn’t get enough support from the running game. It added up to a 31-19 Steelers loss to the Denver Broncos Sunday night.
While it wasn’t pretty, the Steelers managed a wind-whipped victory Sunday as they edged the Browns 13-9 and now head into the postseason.
The Pittsburgh Steelers played host to the Jacksonville Jaguars at Heinz Field Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh was looking to build upon a convincing 38-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 5, and while the game got tight at the end, the Steelers managed to hang on, narrowly avoiding a second-half collapse for a 17-13 victory over the Jaguars.
Shaun Suisham kicked a 38-yard field goal with 4 seconds left Sunday night, lifting the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 23-20 victory at Indianapolis.
